Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Quarterly1099 ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information about visitors to quarterly1099.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

The tax calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. We do not store, transmit, or log:

The numbers you enter into the calculator never leave your device. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. No account or signup is required to use it.

Email reminders (optional). If you submit your email address via the form on /deadlines.html, we collect that email for the sole purpose of sending you quarterly tax deadline reminders (4 emails per year). Submissions are stored by Netlify Forms and emails are sent via Resend (resend.com). Both are processors acting on our behalf. We do not share, sell, or use your email for any other purpose. You can unsubscribe at any time at /unsubscribe.html.

Newsletter (optional). If you submit your email address via the newsletter signup form on our homepage or any article, we collect that email for the sole purpose of sending you occasional Quarterly1099 newsletter content (tax law updates, ACA open enrollment guidance, deduction tips). Subscribers are managed by MailerLite (mailerlite.com), which acts as a processor on our behalf. We do not share, sell, or use your email for any other purpose. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by emailing info@quarterly1099.com.

2. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Service, our hosting provider (Netlify) and our analytics tools may automatically collect:

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services on our site. Each has its own privacy policy.

3.1 Google AdSense and Advertising Disclosure

We display advertising via Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com or aboutads.info. See Google's Ads Policies. Quarterly1099 is a free site supported by display advertising — running ads is how we keep the calculator and articles free with no signup or paywall. Advertisers do not influence editorial content; calculator outputs, article recommendations, and tax rate data are determined independently of any advertiser relationship.

3.2 Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage at an aggregate level. Analytics may collect IP address (anonymized), pages visited, and session duration. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.

3.3 Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity to capture session recordings and heatmaps for site improvement. Clarity may collect mouse movements, clicks, and scrolls — but does NOT capture form-input contents (so the tax calculator's numbers stay private). See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

3.4 Affiliate networks

Our affiliate links route through third-party tracking platforms (HasOffers/Geniuslink, CJ Affiliate, Impact.com, FlexOffers). When you click an affiliate link, the destination site's tracking cookies are set per their privacy policies.

3.5 Netlify (form processor)

Email submissions to our deadline-reminder form are received by Netlify Forms. Netlify stores the submission (email address + timestamp + IP at time of submission) on our behalf as a data processor. See Netlify's Privacy Policy.

3.6 Resend (deadline-reminder email sending)

Quarterly reminder emails are delivered through Resend (resend.com). Resend processes the recipient email address solely to deliver the message and tracks bounces/spam complaints to maintain deliverability. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

3.7 MailerLite (newsletter)

Newsletter signups and sends are managed by MailerLite (mailerlite.com). MailerLite stores subscriber email addresses, tracks open and click events on newsletter emails to compute aggregate engagement metrics, and processes unsubscribe requests. See MailerLite's Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may limit some features.

CCPA — California Residents

We do not sell your personal information for monetary value. AdSense personalized advertising and Google/Microsoft analytics may constitute "sharing" under the CPRA definition. When your browser sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we automatically deny ad/analytics storage via Google Consent Mode v2 — no action required on your part. You can also opt out manually via the Google Ads Settings page.

5. Your Rights

5.1 California (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise rights, you can use the third-party opt-outs listed above (since we collect no direct personal data ourselves).

5.3 Children

The Service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

6. Data Retention

Aside from email addresses voluntarily submitted to the deadline-reminder form (kept until you unsubscribe), we do not collect personal data directly. Third-party services retain data per their own policies.

7. Affiliate Disclosure

We participate in affiliate marketing programs. When you click certain partner links and complete an action (signup, purchase) on a partner site, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not affect the editorial content or recommendations on this site. We only feature products we believe are useful to self-employed Americans.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Because we collect no personal data, there is no user database to breach.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

10. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy can be directed via the official sources cited on our About page. We do not operate a support inbox; for tax questions, consult a licensed CPA or your state's department of revenue.
